Nope, ideas’s are cheap, everybody can have an idea about a great app, or website that is sure to make money and be a big hit.
The guys usually having the ideas, know nothing of marketing or business and don’t have the cash to pay me ‘now,’ but will give me a share of the profits when the big idea ‘pays of,’ at some nebulous point in the future.
It’s important to note that they have no scripting/programming skills at all and don’t understand how a lone developer who is already busy with other projects can turn them down.
They think that it’s really quick and easy and to ‘code up,’ their big idea and that you are the only thing standing between them and big money when you say no to their half baked and ultimately selfish scheme.
They have no comprehension that big successful websites are built and maintained by teams of people working around the clock and that programming isn’t lightening fast like in the ‘hacker,’ movies.
‘Didn’t that Facebook guy, like write the code for Facebook in like, twenty minutes or something?,
Err no, that’s just a movie myth…
